I led HR ERP implementation projects for companies with 1.5K+ employees, working closely with clients. I saw how much time users spend in these systems and how product quality directly impacts their productivity, which made me interested in improving the product itself.

Hello, I’m Yuri, an engineer-turned product designer based in NYC.
I’m currently working with Greenstand, a nonprofit building a reforestation tracking platform used across 56 countries, where I design end-to-end product redesign and design systems.
With 3+ years of design experiences as well as 5+ years of background in software engineering, I bring strong cross-functional collaboration skills, technical fluency, and a curiosity for emerging technologies like AI. With multifaceted design and development experiences, I approach problems as a systems thinker, balancing user, business, and technology.
Born and raised in Japan, my work is shaped by its culture of thoughtful, minimal design.
Journey to design
My experience working across multiple areas of enterprise SaaS development led me to design.
A company split gave me the opportunity to transition into engineering, where I worked on complex enterprise web apps, including internal tools and client-tailored ERP features for companies with 20K+ employees. Without a designer in the team, I also designed the features and advocated for design introducing design-thinking practices.
Realizing the importance of design from work experience, the passion led me to New York to pursue a Master’s in UX Design, where I worked with diverse clients, including an AI startup.
In my current work, I leverage my multidisciplinary background to design intuitive, feasible features for a sustainability app while collaborating closely with stakeholders. I also contribute to establishing a scalable, token-driven design system and AI-assisted handoff workflows.
I’m currently seeking product or UX design roles. Excited to bring my unique skills!
